Celebrate Seguin!
The Friends of Seguin Island Light Station are dedicated to the preservation of Seguin Island, located 2.5 miles off the mouth of the Kennebec River. The light house, commissioned by George Washington, has served mariners for centuries. When the light was decommissioned by the Coast Guard, a group of determined volunteers decided to save it and in 1991 the Friends were granted the deed to the 64-acre island and five historic buildings.
This year's event will be held on Saturday, July 27 at the Maine Maritime Museum's Long Reach Hall, and will feature silent and live auctions, dinner and a cash bar, live music, and a presentation from this year's keepers. Please join us for a fun evening to support a worthy cause!
